On the last morning on Nantucket, Mrs. Horne and I decided to try one of the downtown breakfast spots.
Now that The Fog Island Cafe is gone, there aren’t any full menu breakfast spots in town. But a quick review on yelp showed that The Lemon Press offered more than enough for us.
First off, it’s very comfortable and stylish inside.
At first pass, I assumed that this was a breakfast, lunch, and smoothie spot, but it turns out it’s open most nights for dinner and has a suitable bar.
Neither of the guys at the bar were drinking at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning, a good thing!
As I said, Lemon Press doesn’t offer a full “diner menu”, but there’s enough variety for anyone to find a dish they like.
There’s definitely a healthy and organic slant to this place, which I’m sure plays well on Nantucket.
Since there were just two of us, we didn’t really put the menu through its paces, what we had was great.
Mrs. Horne had the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich on sourdough with a strawberry smoothie.
The smoothie was made with apple juice rather than dairy for vegans.
The sandwich was perfectly assembled, huge, and very flavorful.
I went a similar route, but I went with the everything bagel.
This is a great spot right on Main Street. I’ll have to try it for lunch next time.
