Spread the love

Friday turned out to be an action-packed day aboard Amazing Grace in Nantucket. Tom and Terry joined us Thursday, and the plan for the morning was an extended bike ride to Sconset for lunch.

Sconset is a cute little village east of Sankaty Light.

The highlight of Sconset is the quaint restaurant shop Claudette’s:

Mrs. Horne and I split a Smoked Turkey with THE WORKS, and it was fabulous. By the time we unwrapped and separated it, it was no longer photogenic, but it looked like this.

Big Cocktail Party

I’ve always been a planner, but until I met Mrs. Horne, I was never what Malcolm Gladwell woukd call a “Connector.”

A connector is essentially the social equivalent of a computer network hub. Connectors usually know people across an array of social, cultural, professional, and economic circles, and make a habit of introducing people who work or live in different circles.”

It comes naturally to Mrs. Horne, while I have to work at it. But the benefits of nurturing an ever-expanding circle of friends are well worth it.

With that in mind, I started organizing the Flotilla Cocktail Party on Nantucket in January. I also added friends who live here and anyone else on one of the boats.

The result was a fabulous party with seventeen guests!

The Christening of Amazing Grace

Although it was a little late, we opted to Christen Amazing Grace, surrounded by so many friends.

For the record, the bottle was a gift from Lauren – Safe Harbor Plymouth Chardonnay. I had to edit the video because the bottle was so hard it took three tries to break,

We ended the night sharing a “Selfie” at B-ACK Yard BBQ, watching the kickoff of Game 4.

Needless to say, Friday’s game didn’t end well, but our Friday certainly did!
