I want to thank all of you who generously donated to the rebuilding of Mattapoisett Boatyard following the fire on August 19, 2022.

We want to thank especially those that came from people who never set foot in Mattapoisett❤️

MBY Fire – August 19, 2022

Art, Dave, and Ned could have easily sold the land or just limped along with a couple of Quonset huts, but they didn’t. They understood how important the Boatyard was to the community and went all-in to create one of the finest facilities in New England.

On Saturday, the town turned out for the dedication ceremony and a tour of the new building.

The garage is magnificent with plenty of room for very large boats…

The main floor houses the shop and a very impressive ship’s store.

The Mattapoisett Yacht Club

MBY also housed the Mattapoisett Yacht Club in the attic above the shop where the fire started.

As impressive as the new Boatyard building is, the new Yacht Club blew me away.

The Boss’s Office

I was also surprised to learn that my childhood friend from Pt. Connett – Bob Warren, is the Commodore!

The Captain and Bob Warren

It was an incredible day and and an awesome start to the next chapter in the life of this special Boatyard.

In case you forgot, here is the video of the fire and the town’s effort to contribute to the rebuilding.

And yes, it wasn’t done in 2023, but some things are worth the wait!
