Spread the love

Yes, Amazing Grace was finally hauled and stowed for the winter on November 21 (thanks to SK Marine Electronics for the great photo.)

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We thoroughly enjoyed the 2025 season and in particular:

  • Our long southern tour where we discovered eight new marinas and New York City.
  • Gloucester – It’s a lot like Maine, but closer to home.
  • Great Flotilla fellowship in Nantucket, Oak Bluffs, and of course, Cuttyhunk.

I will begin booking the 2026 season on New Year’s Day with Nantucket in a few days.

Meantime, a few of us still enjoy the tradition of reliving the season through music videos late Christmas Eve.

So here goes, in chronological order, and remember to cast them to a big screen with volume so you can enjoy the accompanying curated Yacht Rock!

May

From prelaunch through opening weekend with Gail and Rudy, the Flotilla Kickoff party, opening day at The Chart Room, and wrapping up with a chilly Memorial Day Weekend on Oak Bluffs and Falmouth.

In Falmouth, we discovered an incredible new restaurant – Romeo’s and the Shining Seas Bike Trail.

Early June

The Three Amigos did Provincetown, and Mrs. Horne broke the curse of bad weather for her girlfriends, highlighted by a rescue at sea.

Nantucket

Without question, my favorite trip of the season. It’s an incredible little town, we rendezvous with so many great Flotilla friends, and it’s the longest stay in any single port.

Late June – The Big Weekend on OB

Summer finally arrived exactly on schedule – June 21, and just in time for the 50 Year Celebration of the Movie Jaws in Oak Bluffs.

That weekend also featured Coop deVille’s first Band On The Boat concert.

Early July

We celebrated the Fourth in Edgartown with the family. Jake and Peggy canceled due to the weather, but we cobbled together a five-day cruise around Massachusetts Bay with Peter. We visited Gloucester for the first time and really loved it!

New York Southern Tour

Peter joined us on our longest cruise to date crossed five state borders, zig-zagged Long Island Sound, and included a memorable visit to Manhattan and Jersey City.

This video series starts with the Flotilla Cuttyhunk Progressive and includes visits with Vernon, Lynn, and Carol along the way.

Out Of Town Guests

We went all-in with guests in 2025, hosting four different crews between late July and mid-September…

Kay and Steve

Arlene and Lynn

Kent and Gail

Susan, Mike, Patty, and Mike

Late September

After a trip to Texas to visit Jake and Peggy, Mrs. Horne, Peter, and I visited the Cape and Islands and caught the final Band On The Boat at Coop de Ville

October Bliss

We began October with a trip to Boston where we enjoyed four days of Blissful 80° weather with Peter. We also did a day trip with Gail and Rudy before closing down the season in October.

God Willing, we will launch on April 20, 2026!

Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year to All…
