As you may know, I am a musician. Sometimes I drive Mrs. Horne crazy by having music around me at all times, but that’s just me being me! The truth is I feel like I’m living in a music video when I have cool songs playing in the background.
When we were leaving Block Island in 2017, I got the urge to create a music video around the whole complicated process of pulling out of Ballard’s Marina with about 10 feet to spare before hitting the massive ferry.
That turned out to be the genesis of MBB Music Videos!
After a little research, I discovered that the iMovie app on my phone does a very nice job. In fact, all of the videos I’ve done so far are made using iMovie.
Now I’m producing one every time we take an interesting trip, and this page has been created so you can find them when the snow is falling in January and you can’t shake the chill from your bones.
May 2025
From prelaunch through opening weekend with Gail and Rudy, the Flotilla Kickoff party, opening day at The Chart Room, and wrapping up with a chilly Memorial Day Weekend on Oak Bluffs and Falmouth.
In Falmouth, we discovered an incredible new restaurant – Romeo’s and the Shining Seas Bike Trail.
Early June 2025
The Three Amigos did Provincetown, and Mrs. Horne broke the curse of bad weather for her girlfriends, highlighted by a rescue at sea.
Nantucket 2025
Without question, my favorite trip of the season. It’s an incredible little town, we rendezvous with so many great Flotilla friends, and it’s the longest stay in any single port.
Late June 2025 – The Big Weekend on OB
Summer finally arrived exactly on schedule – June 21, and just in time for the 50 Year Celebration of the Movie Jaws in Oak Bluffs.
That weekend also featured Coop deVille’s first Band On The Boat concert.
Early July 2025
We celebrated the Fourth in Edgartown with the family. Jake and Peggy canceled due to the weather, but we cobbled together a five-day cruise around Massachusetts Bay with Peter. We visited Gloucester for the first time and really loved it!
2025 New York Southern Tour
Peter joined us on our longest cruise to date crossed five state borders, zig-zagged Long Island Sound, and included a memorable visit to Manhattan and Jersey City.
This video series starts with the Flotilla Cuttyhunk Progressive and includes visits with Vernon, Lynn, and Carol along the way.
Out Of Town Guests 2025
We went all-in with guests in 2025, hosting four different crews between late July and mid-September…
Kay and Steve
Arlene and Lynn
Kent and Gail
Susan, Mike, Patty, and Mike
Late September 2025
After a trip to Texas to visit Jake and Peggy, Mrs. Horne, Peter, and I visited the Cape and Islands and caught the final Band On The Boat at Coop de Ville
October 2025 Bliss
We began October with a trip to Boston where we enjoyed four days of Blissful 80° weather with Peter. We also did a day trip with Gail and Rudy before closing down the season in October.

2023 MBB Videos
Although we did a lot of boating in August, the official season kicked off Labor Day Weekend with Peter in Edgartown.
Our next trip started in Plymouth and ended in Provincetown after a stop in Salem was aborted due to weather. Mike and Susan flew in from Texas to join us.
Our planned visit to OB in mid-September was curtailed by one of many incoming tropical storms, but Mrs. Horne’s Girls Weekend was somewhat salvaged by a Sunday day trip followed by “Boy’s Week” with Peter and Rudy.
The Boys visited two new ports – Salem and Marina Bay. We had a great time and we’ve already locked in the dates for 2024.
Jake and Peggy visited as tropical storms continued to ravage the East Coast. Like all true friendships, we would have fun just hanging around at the house – which we did for three days! But we also got three fun days at sea, visiting Newport Shipyard for the first time.
Our final cruise for the season started earlier than planned, with a 4:00 PM run to Oak Bluffs with Gail and Rudy.
After a beautiful day in Falmouth, we headed to Edgartown to ride out TS Philippe.
The No Name Hurricane of 2023
On December 18, I was playing golf in California when the webcam on my house chirped motion detection. I switched to the video viewer and saw our yard completely submerged in seawater.
2022 MBB Videos
My traditional final post of the year is the release of our summer videos. My personal Christmas Eve tradition is to watch these after everyone else has gone to bed (with an adult beverage at my side.)
I shot a lot of photos and videos last season; too many for a single video, so I made five!
Ten Day Cruise To Maine
After several dramatic tries, we finally made it! Not only was it drama-free, but we were also blessed with smooth seas, light winds, and the presence of our old friend Peter.
The Cape and Islands with Jake and Peggy
After their last-minute cancellation in 2021, our dear friends Jake and Peggy finally made it to Buzzards Bay for a six-day tour of Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
A Fifty Hour Tour of Cape Cod Bay with Kay and Steve
We crammed four stops into two days and even spotted a whale off Plymouth when Kay and Steve visited in mid-August.
Relentless Final Days
The summer of 2022 came to an end amid chaos. We had the tragedy of the Mattapoisett Boatyard Fire, the Sale of Relentless, I had my right replaced, and we led the MBY STRONG fundraiser event raising almost $150,000 to help rebuild the boat yard.
We still managed to get a few cruises in with our MBB Flotilla and kicked off the first annual Cuttyhunk Progressive. We also celebrated another Girl’s Weekend with Mrs. Horne’s old friends from grade school.
