My Buzzards Bay is now in its 10th year! Although I consider myself tech-savvy, managing a mountain of boating content on this website turned out to be a daunting task.
In the beginning, I did it all myself, but a few years ago I started seeking outside help.

The 2024 Makeover
This year we switched to a new look that has the vibe of a boating magazine.
Our Content
My content has evolved over the years, but today I think we’ve centered on three major categories:
- Our Adventures – Hopefully my tales of the sea will conjure up memories of New England summers. And for boaters, I hope my tips save you time, and more importantly, trouble! A number of you have graciously thanked me for giving you new ideas (blueprints?) for better cruising.
- Dock and Dine – We began My Buzzards Bay with the launch of Vigilant and overnight cruises. Before that, our boating life consisted of day trips in search of cool spots to tie up and get lunch. By now, most information was on the internet, but there was very little current information about Dock and Dine. In an effort to Pay It Forward to honor those who taught me boating, I started reporting on great seaside eateries.
- Music Videos – I started creating videos of boating leaving Block Island in 2018. Over the years I’ve created dozens of music videos showcasing various New England cruises and local musician performances. These are purely for entertainment, but I greatly enjoy watching them over the winter break.
In 2024, I also added quick access to New England Webcams which I find vital for navigating our waters on foggy days. I can now figure out in two clicks whether or not to venture through Woods Hole blind, or sit at Hadley’s and wait for the high-speed ferry to lead my way.
Finally, this website has always been free and readable. I fund it myself and never sell ads.
